HERE COMES THE SUN! It’s not just a house – it’s a creation in space and design, a synthesis between the natural beauty of the ocean and the spacious comfort of a supreme castle on the beach. Here Comes the Sun was designed from the ground up to take every advantage of this gorgeous lot of more than half an acre. Not a plan from a book, Here Comes The Sun is a creation that has captured the magic and beauty of the perfect south-facing Hatteras beach and brought stunning vistas to virtually every corner of the house. These are just some of highlights of Here Comes the Sun:

Seven different levels – a new experience on every level! And all bedrooms are on alternate levels from living areas – a crucial design feature to seclude quiet bedroom areas from the revelries and mayhem of the typical beach vacation!

A truly breathtaking great-room – the entire fifth level (over 1000 sq.ft) is a stupendous great room with gorgeous hard wood floors and a 180-degree view of virtually uninterrupted ocean splendor. Huge picture windows, cavernous vaulted ceilings, luxurious seating areas, a secluded loft, a gas fireplace, half-bath, and a wet-bar looking right out on the ocean. Completely surrounded by stunning decks with panoramic views of the beach and ocean.

Five king-bedroom suites – each bedroom is strategically designed to allow a view of the ocean from the bed. Yes, you can gaze at dolphins jumping through the breaking waves while still lying in bed! Two of the king suites have their own 2-person Jacuzzis.

Full amenities in every bedroom suite – each of the eight bedrooms has its own full bath, its own walkout deck area, and every bedroom has its own wall-mounted TV and both hard-wired and wireless internet access.

Plenty of room for everyone – the eight bedrooms include five king beds, one pyramid, two sets of bunk beds, and two single beds. In addition there is a queen sleep sofa in the exercise room, and another queen sleep sofa in the game room.

A kitchen impossible to imagine – every beach vacationer knows the kitchen is the center of the vacation universe, so we made it vast, with three discrete areas – a storage/preparation area (2 huge refrigerators and separate pantry, all next to the elevator for easy shopping/trash access); a cooking area (2 ceramic-top stoves, 2 huge built-in microwaves, 2 coffee-machines, 2 toasters, 2 blenders); a serving/cleaning area (2 separate large sinks, 2 dishwashers, 12-ft breakfast bar, and cooled wine cabinet). There are vast quantities of cabinets and drawers stocked full of every dish, pan and utensil possible – and loads of them. The kitchen even has its own walk-out deck to watch the sunsets. And the kitchen is right next to the banqueting area with immense dining table that can seat up to fourteen plus a second table to seat 6!

Another kitchen - yes, another full kitchen on the first floor with cook-top, microwave, dishwasher, sink, coffee-machine, large refrigerator, ice-maker, smoothie-maker, blender, with a 7-ft wet-bar and stools conveniently accessed from the pool and hot tub.

One of the best pools on the beach - a huge 37 ft custom, concrete, gas-heated pool with mosaics, tons of pool furniture, stainless gas grill, outside speakers, and 2 outside showers.

There is a hot tub that seats 7 adults with direct access to the pool and lower kitchen.

Separate exercise room – located on the fourth level that offers recumbent bike, stair master, free weights with stand and bench, and other assorted gym equiptment. plus a TV and a comfortable sofa sitting area.

An ultra-equipped office – sequestered far from the madding crowd on the fourth level, with a computer workstation with a laser-printer with copier, fax, and scanner and a quiet reading area.

Fast communications – high-speed cable internet is Ethernet hard-wired to all rooms PLUS wireless internet is throughout the house. The telephone includes unlimited free local and long-distance calling. The house has two separate digital TV cable boxes.

Entertainment systems – two state-of-the-art systems each with 50-inch flat-panel LCD screens. These are located in the fifth level great room and the first level game room. Both systems are built in above corner fire-places. Each system includes DVD, VCR, high-power receiver, digital cable receiver. The sound systems are also connected to outside speakers at the hot tub and pool area.

Elevator – the large elevator includes stops immediately outside the handicapped bedroom and directly into the kitchen

Game room extraordinaire – an enormous game room occupying almost the whole first floor, with pool table, shuffleboard, Nintendo Wii game console, and assorted board games, with elevated tables to play games or watch the action, sumptuous living room accommodations with fireplace, a full kitchen and wet bar, all themed as “The Cavern” from Beatles fame!

Other features – enormous areas of beautiful ceramic floors, huge outside storage rooms, a large laundry room with washerand dryer, under-house parking with separate access to the house shielded from the elements, large concrete parking areas.

Handicapped equipped – ramp from the parking area, elevator to the large handicapped-equipped bedroom and bathroom with roll-in shower and 3-ft doors.

Bikes – a whole array of traditional beach bikes in many different sizes, with aluminum frames and stainless spokes, plus repair kits and pumps, all housed in a huge under-house shed.

To make your vacation more relaxing, we will provide all the basic necessities to get your vacation started comfortably. Here Comes the Sun includes free linens year round: all the beds made before arrival with premium high thread-count bed sheets and we provide high quality pima cotton bath towels (two per guest capacity). We offer a starter supply of the following items: toilet paper and liquid hand soap in each bathroom, trash can liners and large capacity garbage bag, dishwasher and dishwashing detergents, paper towels, laundry detergent, stationary and pen. And upon arrival expect to find a wonderful beach bag with goodies for the beach and home that are carefully selected to make your trip to Hatteras Island even more pleasant. On call maid service is available for a mid week touch up clean for a reasonable fee.

It should be clear from all this that Here Comes the Sun is a unique fusion of a multitude of discrete “areas” – a compendium of retreats within a retreat. Areas for partying, banqueting, relaxing and playing. And areas for solace, exercise, slumber, and study. We recognize that the pleasure of a great reunion with friends and family is enhanced not only by those amenities that allow you to enjoy sharing time together, but also those that allow you solitude, just to read, reflect or catch up on business. And lastly, a word about the surroundings. Here Comes the Sun is located in up-scale Atlantic View Estates. This is an exclusive cul-de-sac, and Here Comes the Sun is sequestered far at the end, way away even from the one-backs, with immense space in front and of course nothing but ocean behind. Quiet – only the breathing ocean stirs the air, no traffic to be seen or heard. Turn into Atlantic View Drive, make the corner, and you’re instantly secluded. This is an extravagant community creation, boasting a private luxurious community pool that is the envy of the entire island – in addition to the Sun’s own magnificent ocean-front designer pool. For northern OBXers and Avonites who may not have experienced Hatteras village, once you turned the corner at Buxton, you came to the land of the South Beach – sun all day on the beach, shallow beaches and gentle dunes. And Hatteras is a true “village” with miles of wide, ambling, 25-mph roads, entirely friendly to sauntering bikers and strolling hikers. You truly left behind traffic and supermarkets, but you gained gorgeous art galleries and sumptuous dining emporia. Here Comes the Sun is ready to welcome you and spoil you like never before.
